Artisan Boutique Hotel

The staff were sincere, friendly, and helpful, and the location was great, close to the lake and lots of food places. The room needs work, though. The toilet was dirty, and the disposable toothbrush packaging had dark brown stains. It wasn't replaced during our stay. The shower head didn't give a steady stream, and the floor flooded quickly while showering. The curtains let streetlamp light in, and at night we could hear traffic and people shouting. The room safe didn't work.

Marcus and Tu were always at reception, ready to help quickly and effectively. The customer service was amazing, and the room was good, very quiet, and right in the heart of the Old Quarter, close to everything. The Artisan Hotel is about as old as the surrounding buildings, but it had everything I needed. The laundry was the best priced of the four hotels I've stayed at so far in Vietnam. The hotel itself was very reasonably priced too, with strong Wi-Fi and a TV that had some English channels. I'd definitely stay at The Artisan Hotel again if I return to Hanoi.

We stayed for a month and found the service great. The place was very clean and well worth the money, even though it's not fancy. It's an easy walk to the lake, great food, coffee, and beer street. Staff spoke pretty good English and were keen to help however they could. They were extremely welcoming and friendly. We'll stay here again when we're back in Hanoi.

Son and Thu are invaluable. They're both friendly, helpful, and willing to go out of their way for guests. The hotel is good value, and this is where I'll stay next time. I've been here many times over the years and was a bit concerned that new ownership might change things, but it was great. My room, 201, had a balcony. Staff warned it might be noisy, but I liked listening to the sounds of life as I fell asleep. The bed was comfortable, and I had a fridge, kettle, tea and coffee, a safe, hairdryer, and a really good shower.
