Ba Dinh Le rêveur Homestay

I booked Green Homestay, but when I arrived they sent me around the corner to this place without explaining why. The staff spoke little English, and I stayed just one night of the eight I'd booked. I barely got four hours of sleep because the mattress was rock hard, the pillow extremely thin, and road noise came through the thin walls all night. Bugs were crawling on the wall beside me, though as far as I could tell they weren't bed bugs. I couldn't find a proper toilet, not even a squat toilet. A window above the door let stairway light stream in all night. I had a private room, but its door had only a padlock that you had to switch from inside to outside when leaving. The location works if you take taxis every day or don't mind a long walk to the Old Quarter. Spend a bit more and stay somewhere in the Old Quarter.

We left in less than an hour because the place felt unsafe, dirty, and uncomfortable. The walls were very thin, and cigarette smoke from neighboring rooms seeped in and stayed in our hair and clothes. The shower area was extremely narrow and felt unsafe to use. Some of our belongings went missing during our short stay. The owner's customer service was unacceptable, with little communication skill or professionalism. At one point, they spoke to us while half-dressed, which felt highly inappropriate. Despite all that, the owner refused to refund us. I strongly believe Agoda should remove this listing. This felt like a complete scam and was the worst accommodation I've encountered. I'd strongly advise people to avoid it and look for somewhere safer and more reputable.

We only stayed an hour, and my friend had already lost her Nike slipper, worth $100. When we told the owners or staff, they blamed us and threatened us. We tried to get back the 800,000.00 dong we paid for two rooms, but they got angry and cursed at us. It was frightening as tourists, and I really don't recommend this place. The walls were thin, with a gap between them and the neighboring room that didn't run from ceiling to floor. Smoking wasn't prohibited in the rooms, and we could hear the man next door spitting on the floor. There were no towels or other amenities, no shower room, and only one restroom for all the guests. Don't come here, go somewhere else.

I booked this place after seeing the reviews too late, then bought pest spray specifically for bedbugs. It didn't help, and I got so many bites I looked like a connect-the-dots puzzle. They wouldn't refund me, and Agoda only gave me partial credit. The building is one of three or four homestays within 300m, though they're all listed online as Green Homestay. They overbook and misrepresent what the space is. There are kettles, but they look like they'd send you for a tetanus shot. Bottled water is available to buy. You're better off sleeping outside. Don't book here or Green Homestay under any circumstances, you'll regret it.
