Taylor and Heather were especially welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and the service was excellent. At Bendecir Hotel, we found clean, comfortable rooms and a perfect location. Great value for money. We’d definitely come back.

The best parts were the location in the Old Quarter, close to the lake, and the friendly, courteous, genuinely helpful front-of-house staff. Breakfast was okay, with a decent spread and eggs cooked to order. The hotel itself felt dated and cramped, though, and nowhere near the advertised 4-star standard. I’d put it closer to 2-2.5 stars, which made the rave reviews surprising. The stairs were narrow and steep, the corridors tight, and there was only one tiny lift. The bathroom was very small, and its shower curtain setup felt icky and more like a budget hotel. A proper shower screen would have helped. The breakfast area was cramped and felt like a back-of-house space. Hygiene seemed questionable, especially with cardboard on the floor to soak up what looked like a leak or spill. There’s no pool, and street noise woke me even on a higher floor, so I didn’t sleep well. I was honestly glad to check out and won’t return.

The staff were kind and helpful, and we felt well looked after. Before we left for Sapa at 0630, they packed us a hearty breakfast to take along. Our room was big, clean, comfortable, and relaxing, and the stay went smoothly without any problems. We really enjoyed it, a definite 5-star experience. Highly recommended.

The service and location were wonderful, and the breakfast was abundant and delicious. Our room, though, wasn’t well maintained. The AC kept leaking and the toilet smelled. Since the electricity is linked to the room key and they only gave us one key card for three people, the room smelled each time we came back in.
