Golden Rice Hotel Hanoi

The best part is the location, close to the cathedral, Hoan Kiem lake, and the old quarter. The rooftop pool has lovely views, and the staff are welcoming. Breakfast was good, especially the omelettes. The building has interesting architecture and decor. It may have been redecorated recently, as there was a bit of a paint smell.

The staff's hospitality really made our stay at the Golden Lotus Luxury Hotel in Hanoi. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and happy to help, and they made us feel at home. We booked a junior suite with a balcony, which was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully kept. The hotel is right in the heart of the Old Quarter, just a short walk from the lake, so getting around and exploring the city was easy.

We could walk to most of Hà Nội's main sights from the hotel, including Train Street, Hoàn Kiếm Lake, Ngọc Sơn Temple, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the Hanoi Old Quarter, Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre, Hoa Lo Prison Museum, and Dong Xuan Market. The kids especially enjoyed the puppet theatre, and we thought the lake was peaceful and beautiful early in the morning. Train Street was an amazing experience and a must do. We stayed at the Golden Lotus Hotel in Hà Nội with our three children, ages 6, 8, and 10. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and made a special effort to welcome the kids. Breakfast was included. It wasn't as extensive as at some other places we've stayed, but it was decent and good value for the price. We'd definitely stay again when we return.

The pool here was a nice place to spend time, even though it's not huge. We used it because the pool at our own hotel was out of service, and the great location made it easy. The rooftop bar opens at about 4pm. We had a nice time, and all the staff were very friendly.
