A relaxing room with a really nice atmosphere in Hanoi. The owner was helpful and easy to communicate with. There was loud music from the bar downstairs on Saturday night, but it stopped at 11 pm and things were quiet after that. I’d definitely recommend it.

Getting to the property with large luggage was difficult because cars can’t reach it directly, and that wasn’t clearly explained when I booked. The room itself also bore little resemblance to the photos on social media and the OTA platform, including booking.com. The pictures showed a modern, well-kept place, while the actual room had dated interiors and poorly maintained facilities. It felt like a hoax, and the mismatch was deceptive. Booking was smooth, but the stay didn’t meet expectations. Guests rely on accurate photos, so I hope the management and Booking.com make sure images reflect what’s actually offered. Misleading pictures hurt trust in both the property and the platform.

The room was exactly as pictured, and we had no trouble with the aircon or wifi. It was spacious, cozy, and fairly priced. The host was kind and responsive, and went out of her way to help with things like topping up soap and looking for a lost item. The alley entrance was a surprise. There’s no elevator, and we had to climb a dark flight of stairs to the second floor. The host had sent a YouTube video explaining the walk, and a light by the room door made the familiar scene feel welcoming. Behind it was a speakeasy-style unit we loved throughout our stay. It’s in a convenient district, far enough from the old quarters to feel peaceful but still close to what you need, including three cafes, a convenience store, and even a michelin star restaurant. I’d recommend it for a cute local Airbnb on a budget.

The only thing management handled well was responding quickly to questions. The rest of the stay was frustrating. We booked a studio with a balcony for one night through Booking.com, then were told a day before check-in that there was a water issue and assigned a lower-floor room. That meant a completely different window and balcony view. Since it was the same building, the late notice felt like an excuse. The bathroom and bedroom smelled strongly of drainage. At 1 AM we opened the balcony door and windows and turned on the fan just to get fresh air and sleep. There was even a drainage lid in the bathroom, which made it seem like they knew about the smell but hadn’t fixed it. The mattress was thin and too soft, and the wooden bed frame creaked with every movement. The online pictures were completely misleading, and the location wasn’t central, with better options nearby. Selling rooms randomly without regard for quality or customer satisfaction seems to show a lack of integrity. The whole experience felt deceptive and unprofessional, so I can’t recommend the property. Avoid it.
