We’d read a lot of negative reviews and were worried, but ended up pleasantly surprised. Our seventh-floor room was clean and very comfortable, with no problems using the WiFi or hot water. The location works well for the Old Town, and breakfast was nice, though the choices were limited. I agree with other reviewers that the hotel doesn’t look like the one shown on Booking.com.

Steve and Jennifer were thoughtful and kind all through our stay, and always answered our questions. Their help made the vacation easier, more fun and memorable. The hotel’s customer service was excellent. We liked the room, which was cleaned daily, and my friends and I especially enjoyed the food, particularly the fried rice.

Breakfast was yummy and filling, and the receptionists were exceptionally kind and helpful. I’m not sure why some reviews criticize them, since that wasn’t our experience at all. On our last day, we checked out at noon but had to wait for a 10 pm sleeper bus to Sapa. They let us store our things and head out, gave us water, and helped move our bags to the waiting spot when Grab kept canceling. Big thanks to Steve and Jennifer!

The staff were polite, attentive and ready to help with whatever guests needed. Even though we were tired from travelling, they let us rest first and pay later that evening when we went out. They also helped us book a Grab, spoke with the driver and showed us to the car. The location was great for walking to markets, restaurants, souvenir shops, Beer Street and the main road. The breakfast buffet ranged from Western to Asian dishes, with pho served every day. Everything about the hotel was really good. I highly recommend it, 100 stars!
