Hanoi Esplendor Hotel and Spa

I’m mixed on this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location worked well. It’s about a 5-8 minute walk to beer street and the main busy part of the Old Quarter, and a similar walk the other way to the famous train cafe street. I was unlucky with a room below the breakfast floor on the 8th floor, where construction was going on the whole time. The banging meant I couldn’t sleep in. I also wouldn’t recommend the windowless room I had. It felt damp and humid, with what seemed like a mold smell, and there’s not much way to air out a room without windows. After seeing other places around the city, I’d guess you can get a better setup for less elsewhere. It has hotel prices, but, like many places called “hotels” in Hanoi, felt more like an apartment building with an elevator. If you get a room with a window, you may be fine. The staff were great, but what I got didn’t feel like good value.

We booked a family room with big, very comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious, and the view from the top floor was wonderful. The concierge and restaurant staff were warm and friendly. It’s easy to get around from here, while the hotel itself is quiet enough to rest.

The breakfast buffet was good, with a choice of eggs or another hot dish. Our room was large and clean, and the staff were outstanding, always friendly and helpful. It’s a very nice hotel in the Old Quarter, walkable to Train Street and Hoan Kiem Lake, with lots of good places to eat close by.

Our city-view room with a balcony at Hanoi Esplendor Hotel & Spa was just right. The hotel’s in a great spot, close to everything, and the staff were attentive, polite, and friendly throughout. They also arranged our airport transfer, which made things easy. Breakfast had plenty of good options. We had a great stay and highly recommend it.
