Hanoi Oriental Pearl Hotel

The Old Town, shopping, and plenty of good food are all an easy walk away, though walking there can feel a bit precarious. The location is noisy, and the bathroom needed a proper scrub. The sheets and towels also need more care when they’re cleaned. The staff, though, are lovely, friendly, and polite. They remembered us, were happy to help with requests, and did our laundry quickly and cheaply. It came back smelling so good. Thanks to the lovely staff.

We asked once whether they had yogurt, and they didn’t. The next day they’d bought some for us without us even asking again. That really showed how much they care about their guests. The rooms were nice and clean, everyone on staff was friendly, and breakfast was filling and delicious. We had a pleasant stay and I highly recommend it.

We only stayed one night before heading to Sapa, but the staff treated us like old friends. When my girlfriend’s phone was stolen during a night out, they showed real concern and were very helpful. We cancelled our bus the next day because of what happened and booked the train instead. They let us keep our luggage in the lobby until we left late that evening. The railway station is just a 3 min drive away, so I highly recommend staying here if you’re taking the train to Sapa.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and we even got a welcome drink when we arrived. The person who checked us in shared lots of useful tips about what we could see in the area during our short stay. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, the best staff we’ve had at any of the hotels we stayed in. The breakfast was awesome too. My two boys and I were only here for one night on our way to Cat Ba, and I wish we’d stayed another night. They really go above and beyond.
