Getting to the hotel took a bit of figuring out. It's tucked at the end of a one-way street, beside two other hotels, and there's no clear sign. Our room was also next to the luggage lift, which got noisy when guests arrived late, around 2 AM. Even with those issues, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend it. We were in the Star Anise room on the second floor, and it was very spacious, including the bathroom, which had a nice bathtub. The reception staff were friendly and always willing to help. The place has a charming, cottage-like feel, with little plants out front that make it cozy and relaxing. It's not especially modern, but I liked that about it. The location in the Old Quarter is hard to beat. Coffee shops, street food, restaurants, bars, and massage places are all around, so I could explore on foot instead of taking taxis. Breakfast was simple and tasty, enough to start the day.

The building work next door went on at odd hours, from 10 PM to 3 AM, and made it hard to sleep unless you stayed out late. Even so, the hotel itself sits on a pedestrian street in the middle of the Old Quarter, away from traffic noise, and the location is ideal. Breakfast was the best we've had on our trip so far. Our room was lovely, spacious, comfortable, well decorated, and very clean. The staff were welcoming and kind.

Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit and crepes, plus noodles or eggs you could order. The hotel is comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's in a quiet alley, and although there was construction next door during the day, it was still likely much quieter than staying on the main road. Thank you 😊

The rooms were spacious and clean, the location was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Keep in mind there's no passenger lift. They use a luggage lift, and it's extremely loud. Staff seemed to operate it at any hour, so we were woken before 7 every morning while they got breakfast ready. Breakfast was a letdown. We arrived midway through service and nothing had been replenished. The coffee was completely cold, and all that remained was bread without butter or jam and some bananas. The bananas had hard lumps in them, maybe nuts, which we found odd. After that first day, we skipped breakfast.

I stayed here for two nights. The good parts were the breakfast, the nice decor, the Hanoi feel, an okay room, and a location that made getting around easy. The hard part was finding the hotel. The lift behind the wall is for luggage and staff, and it was so loud it could wake you early in the morning or at night. There’s no lift for guests, so I had to climb five floors to reach my room. A house next door was under construction, with noise early in the morning and poor air quality because of it. I came with my boyfriend, a foreigner, and I’m local. I felt the owner treated us differently even though we were both guests. He’d smile, say hello, and call my boyfriend “MR,” but when he turned to me, his attitude changed completely. He didn’t call me by name or use Mr, and was silent and unfriendly. I wondered if I was being too sensitive, but each time we met, he treated me the same way, while acting warmly toward my boyfriend. When he found out we were sharing a room, he asked my boyfriend, with me standing right there, whether a queen-size bed would be enough for two people. I was taken aback. I felt disrespected. It was the worst experience of my life, and left me feeling the place was racist and homophobic.
