For what I needed, the convenient location and acceptable rooms were enough, and the decent breakfast was a nice extra. We really liked the breakfasts, despite some of the reviews here. It’s a modest but comfortable place, and I prefer to find any other services somewhere suited to those purposes.

Finding the entrance can take a moment because the hotel’s frontage is very narrow. Once inside, the location is excellent, right in the Old Quarter and within walking distance of Hoan Kiem Lake, the Night Market, Train Street, and several cafés. It made getting around Hanoi easy. The room was clean and the toiletries and towels were well kept, but the washroom is so small and crowded that even wiping or changing in there feels uncomfortable. The “City View Deluxe Room” doesn’t really have a meaningful city view, and food choices are limited if you want variety. Staff were helpful enough, though nothing special. We stayed at Rising Dragon Legend Hotel and had a decent visit overall, with some clear drawbacks.

My wife and I live outside Hanoi, so we stay around this area most weekends. The breakfast was simple and good value. We also found the room much bigger than expected and comfortable, with really friendly staff. The Old Quarter location is great, and we’ll definitely stay there again.

I came back after a great stay at this small hotel 11 years ago, even though I’d seen some newer bad reviews. In 2026, though, it felt really run down and badly in need of renovation and replacement fixtures. The room was still acceptable, but the bathroom was filthy and just bad. The sheets felt thin and didn’t look white anymore. The location is good, but so are those of other small hotels in the old town, and the breakfast was decent. At the same price, nearby Marina Hotel is much better and cleaner. This place is just too old and dirty, and not worth SGD $50 a night in Vietnam. I’m glad I booked only one night.

Nothing negative to say about this hotel. The room was great, the air was cold, the shower hot, the bed wonderful, and breakfast was awesome. All the staff were friendly and fun to be around. David at reception is upbeat and has a great sense of humor. Come here respectfully and your stay can be just as amazing as mine.
