Wild Lotus Apartment 2

I spent three nights at wild lotus west lake. It's right by West Lake, about a 45 min drive from central Hanoi, and feels more like an apartment complex. The room was spacious, the front desk team friendly and supportive, and cleaning was fine. You can walk to the flower market and some scenic views. A few downsides: food choices are limited and only available by pre-order, and there was no room wifi or mini bar. The power outlets don't fit common international square pins, and the hotel had only a limited number of suitable adapters or sockets. It was also difficult to buy extra food or drinks. At night the gates are partly closed, though you can still come and go, and the hand bidet pressure is low.

Staff were kind and flexible about our schedule, letting us check in at 12 instead of the usual 2 without a fee, and check out late because of our train and flight. The 6pm checkout did cost 1 million vnd, or 80%. The room looked just like the photos, with a lovely lake view and an optional balcony. There's a washer on each floor, though using the shared washer and fridge area costs $50 USD. Breakfast is ordered the night before for the next morning. The bed was quite hard, but the a/c worked well and there's a heater too. The hotel was very clean and within walking distance of restaurants. This area had less solicitation, traffic, and noise than the old quarter. I'd recommend it.

The hotel is comfortable and straightforward, and the breakfast was lovely. West lake is a nice place to escape the busy old town in Hanoi. There's also a bar right next door with good food and beer, and it wasn't noisy.

We were welcomed with fruit and snacks, which was nice after arriving and saved us from having to go look for food right away. Restaurants are an easy walk away. The lake view rooms look out over both the lake and city, and the location is good. Tung at the front desk was always smiling, friendly, courteous, and ready to help.
