The Five Suites Lilas

The front desk service from Dinh lam was wonderful. Very friendly and always ready to help. We had a smart looking but relaxing room, and one of the more comfortable beds we’ve had in Vietnam, since we prefer a little less firmness. The location was pretty good, though sometimes Grab drivers wouldn’t come our way, so we often had to wait for someone to accept the trip and not cancel. Breakfast had nice food, but the service gets only three stars from us. We constantly had to ask for items, even water, to be restocked, and it felt awkward having to keep asking. Still, we had a nice stay and would be happy to come back if we needed to.

My family of three had a lovely stay at the five Lilas hotel. The rooms were spacious and felt thoughtfully made for a comfortable experience. Minh at reception was especially helpful, and I really enjoyed chatting with her each time. Highly recommend!

Even after staying at a few five-star hotels on our trip, my wife and I both thought this was the best one. It offers a lot for a three-star place. Our family of four had a very spacious two-bedroom apartment, with two toilets, so mornings weren’t rushed. The living room was a great place to relax in the evening after exploring Hanoi. The hotel is away from the main Old Quarter, but still conveniently placed, with plenty of local food choices nearby. The breakfast area had a fantastic view of the lake. It’s also only about a 15-minute walk from the imperial citadel and makes a good base for exploring the West Lake area.

Our Deluxe Suite on the ninth floor worked really well for five nights, and Room 902 had a lovely view toward the church. After the busy Old Quarter, we wanted somewhere quieter but still easy to get around from, and this was a good fit. The neighbourhood feels local, with lots of restaurants and cafés nearby. The sound insulation is strong, even in the lobby, which feels calm despite the street outside. It was a more relaxed stay and better value for us. We’d have happily stayed longer.
