We stayed two nights in freezing weather, nearly snowing, and there was no hot water on any floor. The rooms smelled like vomit and had mold everywhere. The owner never responded. Rats were trying to get in through the windows, and we could hear them moving inside the walls. The wildlife might be beautiful if you’re into that, but we weren’t. Our blanket was a stained, dirty sheet, and the pillowcases and bedsheet were just as bad. Correction, it was covered in black mold. We slept on black mold in this dump for two nights, which can’t be good for our health. Unless you truly have nowhere else to stay, good luck, travel friends.

The owners, a wife and husband, were super nice and helpful. I’d recommend booking your travel plans with them too, since they have good prices and are very professional. The place is very clean, and the sheets and towels smell good. The toilet is shared between two rooms, but it feels almost private because it’s very close to the room and shared with just zero to two other people. The place is in an alley, which blocks the street noise. It’s very close to the northern side of the lake, which I think is the best area in Hanoi, with good food and cool vibes.

The rooms are wonderful, clean, and comfortable, with AC that works a treat and super-fast internet. The hotel is well placed for getting around Hanoi, and the Wi-Fi is good. Staff were friendly and helpful and made our stay great. Perfect location and a great place to stay.

Mr. Johnny showed us several local spots I never would have found on my own, and we got to try things I wouldn’t have ordered without his guidance. The tour was so good. I only wish I hadn’t waited until my last night in Hanoi to do it. Highly recommend.

The owners are friendly and really helpful, and they also run a restaurant with nice cooking classes. The homestay is right downtown, so it’s very convenient. I’d recommend it if you want a more sustainable option than most hotels. 🥰
