A&EM - The Petit Hotel

The location and the price we paid were the best parts of our two day stay at A&EM hotel in Feb 2024. Nearby restaurants and lively places were easy to get to, but the rest felt pretty average. The rooms could have been cleaner and better maintained, the towels were mediocre, and the lighting was a bit dim. We were a couple, so the low light didn’t bother us much. Staff had trouble understanding even basic requests, despite us using a translator app. The lady receptionist was helpful when she was there, but the restaurant staff couldn’t understand what we needed, making breakfast difficult both days. Breakfast was included, but the choices were limited and the quality and taste were average. Even though we arrived during breakfast hours and asked several times, staff couldn’t provide more food. Basic options like omelette, bread, or fruit weren’t available, so we had to buy food at the nearest convenience stores. I hope the team addresses this and improves the facilities.

The management is poor. A stranger can walk into your room at any time.

The location is great, close to everything, and the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms, though, feel decades old: the closet and cabinet doors wouldn’t shut properly, the bed was really uncomfortable, and bugs were crawling around the bathroom. I upgraded to the Hotel & Spa, which was much nicer, but cost double.

I always stay at A&EM Petit hotel at 179 Ly Tu Trong. It’s right in the heart of district 1, and they have great staff. Special thanks to Phuong reception, who’s helpful and personable. Breakfast starts early and has something for every taste. You’ll be happy 🙏
