A25 Hotel 14 Luong Huu Khanh

Breakfast was tasty, with Vietnamese coffee, fruit and a small buffet, plus one dish from the à la carte menu. My sister and husband had Pho Bo, and I tried the Pork Trodder Noodle soup. I was really disappointed when I later learned we could only order one item. I’d hoped to try the spaghetti, which I’d seen on several menus in Vietnam, including this one. The A25 hotels we stayed at in Hanoi and Da Nang had much bigger buffets or unlimited à la carte choices. We only stayed one night before flying out of Saigon. Prices here seemed a bit higher than in Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Da Nang during our 11-day trip. I’d booked rooms for three with bathtubs throughout, since my husband likes soaking and I needed relief for my injured back after a bad fall on wet stairs earlier in the trip. The hotel is in a side alley, but room 603 faced the road and we could hear traffic. The fan’s white noise helped a little. The room was clean and had a refrigerator, safe, TV, bathrobes, slippers and other amenities. The air-conditioning kept it cool. Security guards and receptionists were friendly and helpful. There are several 7-Elevens a few minutes’ walk away.

Tram from the kitchen made our stay memorable. She’s kind, always ready to help, and cooks really delicious food.

I hadn’t expected much, but the hotel turned out better than I thought. The staff were great and helpful, and the security guard was a nice person. Breakfast was a good perk, too. If you’re on a budget, I’d pick this over an Airbnb any time.

A small, cozy place with a good breakfast service. It’s a good choice if you need to be near Tu Du Hospital to care for a relative.
