We paid 800k VND by card for one night, breakfast, and an early check-in at about 5 a.m. I thought that was expensive, even compared with better rooms nearby. Before we checked in, they showed us photos of what was meant to be a large room with windows on one and a half floors. In reality it was average-sized, with a window facing a wall about half a meter away that couldn’t be opened. The room smelled strongly of damp, and the sheets, blanket, and pillows smelled too. They were wrinkled and hadn’t been ironed. We asked to have them changed the next morning. They said they had done it, but the bedding looked and smelled the same. There was no tea or coffee in the room and no steam iron. The property has no elevator, and the surrounding area seemed full of rats and cockroaches. We had agreed we could leave our luggage for a couple of days after checkout while we went to Phu Quoc, at no charge. When we did, they asked for 100k VND, though they eventually agreed to store it for free. Ken was sometimes helpful, but had to check everything with the owner, who had recently had a baby and was resting away from the property. He also went out of his way to make us a vegan salad breakfast, which was good. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you can get it for 300k or less. We had a better experience at tois hostel.
