Diamond Hill Hotel

We weren’t told beforehand that our room had no window. The bathroom had glass walls, so every time you used the toilet you had to lower the automatic curtains, then raise them again to leave. The whole place also had a strong unpleasant smell, especially in the room and hallways. It felt old, and things were often dirty or broken. Breakfast was awful in both selection and quality, and it was far too expensive for what it offered. The decor is down to personal taste, of course, but this one really hurt my eyes. It looked as if somebody had gathered the cheapest decorations in the loudest shapes and patterns and put them all together. The embellishments collect dust, and nobody seems to have time to clean them. I only took pictures in the room.

The breakfast selection was limited, and the staff there were rude. Smoke from the neighboring rooms was strong enough to wake me in the middle of the night. During our stay, there was loud noise from door construction. The premium double room barely had enough space for the two of us and our bags. The windows couldn’t be opened, and the view was of an AC duct and the emergency stairs. There was an oversized bathtub but hardly any space to walk around it, while the bathroom itself was barely big enough for one person to stand in. The AC control kept malfunctioning and showing errors, leaving the room either too hot or too cold. Reception greeted us in a military style. A bad way to end the tour.

For all three days of our stay, there was no hot water. The bathroom was tiny and awkward, and the bathtub had no curtain. We also couldn’t comfortably open two medium-sized suitcases in the cramped room. The breakfast was very average, with few options, and the staff were rude, especially at the buffet. This was nowhere near the four-star standard the hotel claims. A miserable stay.

At checkout, management accused us of damaging items and tried to charge us extra. They were dishonest and argumentative. The rooms were poorly maintained, with broken fixtures and dirty bathrooms, and housekeeping was irregular. Towels and drinking water, basic things, weren’t provided on time. Reception staff were especially rude and showed no hospitality. Customer service was also unhelpful and disrespectful. I wouldn’t recommend this place. It feels unprofessional and isn’t worth the money, especially with better nearby options where guests are treated respectfully.
