Elegant Inn

The two employees I dealt with were great, and the problems weren’t their fault. At 9:30 pm I was locked out because the main door was locked and the only staff member was helping another guest. Still, I expect better from a hotel. Construction was going on, and I felt cheated paying to stay in what was basically a construction zone. The owner should have closed the place during the work, or at least discounted the rooms. My mistake was booking online without checking recent reviews first. It became one of my worst hotel stays, and I won't come back.

I paid 450 dong ($20) extra for what was supposed to be a good room in Saigon, with a fan, AC, desk, hot water, and cable TV. There was no hot water, fan, desk, or TV. Outside the room, construction dust, paint, drywall, and cement were everywhere, with a wire stretched across the window as if a sheet had been hung there. The walls and windows barely blocked any sound, so it was loud. One of the worst places I've stayed.

The bathrooms were a bit dodgy, and there’s no safe in the rooms, so valuables need to go in the reception safe. Still, the rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and breakfast was very good and included. Great location and very good value for money.

For the low price, the quality is very good for this location. There are several bars and restaurants just around the corner, and Saigon centre is about a 20-minute walk away.
