I really enjoyed my stay at IAM SAIGON Homestay. The pool area and the friendly staff made it feel especially comfortable, and Google Translate made the language barrier manageable. It’s a cute, cozy place a little outside HCMC’s lively but hectic center. The rooms are fine and well equipped for a pleasant stay, especially for the affordable price, though they could be cleaner and might need a refresh. I’m not a big fan of bathrooms that are outside, but that’s just my personal taste. Those small drawbacks really weren’t that bad. I’d definitely recommend staying here when visiting Saigon. I was also able to check in very early in the morning for a small extra charge, which was helpful after a long flight.

The room was small, and a few areas of the property looked worn, but for what we paid it was still good value. I liked how peaceful the atmosphere was. Having breakfast with a lovely view of the pool and plenty of fresh air was a great start to the day, and the staff were friendly and polite.

The staff were so kind and thoughtful, especially Kasi, with her lovely smile, and always ready to help. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and different each morning, with a chance to try traditional recipes. I loved the old Saigon style throughout the place, from all the wood to the beautiful little details. The rooms and shared spaces were minimalist and super clean, with everything you need. It’s a beautiful little gem on a quiet road in the city. I’d definitely recommend staying here for the care, love and peace all around. Thank you!!

The beautiful pool downstairs is the only thing that made this stay worthwhile. The hotel itself isn’t the worst, but management could improve it and doesn’t. The staff seemed friendly, but didn’t seem willing to help. I was especially surprised by the manager on Zalo, who replied to me but still couldn’t arrange an earlier check-in. They wanted 50,000 dong per hour for early check-in, even though a night at this hotel costs 300,000. I got the impression rooms were available but staff and management deliberately made guests wait and feel uncomfortable. The air conditioner looks like it’s been there since the Vietnam War, though somehow it still works. The switches look old and unreliable too. They don’t use bottled water, but fill bottles with tap water. We only got tap water on arrival, then there was no cleaning or more water. There was no liquid soap in the toilet, and no hand or face towels. VERY BAD.

The room had a good air conditioner and a surprisingly comfortable king bed, even though the shower was semi-outdoors. We had a top-floor two-bedroom room that isn’t normally rented out. Breakfast was either Western-style eggs or some kind of Vietnamese soup, and coffee cost extra. The pool looked inviting, but we never saw anyone in it. The place could be very nice, but as it is, it’s quite filthy. The lobby floor tiles look like they haven’t been cleaned in 20 years. It’s in a narrow alley, across from several coffee shops and places to eat.
