They don't clean rooms daily unless you specifically ask. I've read quite a few reports of people being moved to another hotel when they check in. Maybe their room gets reassigned to someone who books directly at the front desk, where the rate is usually higher than online. Then online guests can be left without a room, a bit like airline overbooking. If you arrive during the day, you might want to go there first and see the room before booking. If it works for you, pay or book online; if it doesn't, pick somewhere else. The hotel will usually show its best available room to keep you as a customer.

The place I was sent to, Saigon Europe Hotel, was dirty and had bed bugs. It felt like a clear downgrade from the hotel shown online, and not what I had paid for. I booked based on the online photos and description, but on arrival they told me I was being moved several blocks away. There had been no notice, and I wasn't given a reasonable way to stay at the property I'd reserved. After I said I'd cancel through Agoda because this wasn't my booking, the desk agent turned aggressive and rude. It made an already uncomfortable situation worse after a long travel day. I later saw several reviews describing the same bait and switch, so this may be a pattern rather than a one-off. If transparency, basic hygiene, and respectful treatment matter to you, I'd strongly avoid this place.

Good spot if you're looking for affordable accommodation in a strategic location. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and it's easy to find transport for getting around the city, like Grab, city buses, or even the metro.

While we were out, our room flooded. The staff knew about it but didn't tell us or help, and all our things got wet. They refused to compensate us. They first offered a tiny room, then only showed us proper rooms after I pointed out the ones available online. Really poor service.
