We tried two room types, a Premier Twin with a window and a Deluxe Double without one. Changing rooms was simple: we left our bags behind, the staff moved them, and they kept us updated on WhatsApp. The rooms were cosy, practical, and straightforward, and we particularly liked the shower. Kin Hotel is in a handy central spot, although the busy streets around it can feel hectic. Staff were consistently friendly, greeting us and offering help. When we had an early appointment shortly after breakfast opened, they let us put together a takeaway box from the buffet, a small kindness we appreciated. We also saw that Kin has several other locations around HCMC, each with its own cosy look.

After a whirlwind honeymoon, the last four days at this hotel were a welcome chance to relax. The staff, especially Daphne, Anthony, and everyone at reception, were attentive and exceptionally good at looking after us. When I had a headache, they brought a mild painkiller; they also brought our Grab food order upstairs and responded within minutes whenever we contacted them on WhatsApp. I never had to push for better treatment. They even brought me another blanket when I asked for one to lie on because the duvet was so soft. The bedding was wonderfully comfortable, and as a side sleeper I found the mattress one of the softest I’ve had in Southeast Asia. The blackout curtains helped me sleep, too. We’d had a few communication and protocol problems before arrival, but the team sorted them out quickly. They also warned us in advance about daytime renovation noise and put us on the 7th floor, well away from the basement work. We were given a clear printout and a kind apology. The construction ended yesterday, thankfully, but the way they handled the feedback left a good impression. The street was surprisingly quiet at night, despite being close to so much. A Grabcar ride made it easy to reach Avatar karaoke, Ben Thanh Market, museums, Ben Nghe Street Food Market, Sài Gòn Square, and more. The breakfast was tasty and filling, with stewed beef, fried rice or noodles, omelets, iced Vietnamese coffee, and Western staples. The shower pressure was great, and hot water never ran short. The TVs were well placed and had Netflix and Amazon Prime. We found the stay worth every dollar. It felt personal and special, with some of the best hospitality we’ve had. It’s an affordable, beautiful hotel, and a good fit if you like a soft, pillow-top-style bed.

The staff’s politeness and friendliness were a real highlight. Kathy was especially helpful on our last day, and others across the team helped make the stay lovely. Our room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is wonderfully central, about two minutes from the main market and Presidential Palace. Recommended.

Kin Hotel Lý Tự Trọng is a good option if you want an affordable, comfortable place with reliable service and a convenient location.
