There’s plenty of street food and inexpensive accommodation around Pham Ngu Lao, and I really liked the lively feel of the area. If you need laundry done quickly on a longer trip, Dan’s Wash & Stay at 185/10 Pham Ngu Lao is open around the clock, self-service, and charges just 30K per load.
It’s a simple, clean little hotel in the middle of Saigon, fine for a one-night stop. Ben Tanh market is only a short walk away. The street has bars playing loud music until 5am, though they’re open all night. It didn’t bother us, but light sleepers could have trouble. A good clean place if you’re not looking for anything fancy.
The travel agency here feels cozy and very quiet.
