Mari Queen Hotel - Bui Thi Xuan

The location was the best part of my three-night stay. It's near Bui Vien Street, the nightlife area, and close to most bus stations from Cambodia. If you're taking a bus between Cambodia and Saigon, most stations are less than a 10 min walk away. The room was small, which is pretty common in Vietnam. I just wish it had a proper balcony. It only had a tiny one where you could look outside.

There were plenty of places to eat nearby, the rooms had good Aircon, and the nightly price wasn't high. But the rooms are small and have no window. My bathroom was so cramped that I'm glad I'm not a bigger person, or using the toilet would have been difficult. There was also a gap in the floor, so I could hear and smell everything from the room below. Not pleasant. We stayed two nights and picked the place because of its good review score. When we checked out, we understood why: guests are asked to write a review while checking out.

The front desk team and receptionists were welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Their attitude toward customers deserves 11 out of 10. They supported me throughout the stay, and I'd return next time I'm in town. The cheapest room is small and has no window or work table, just basic amenities, but the price makes sense for such a convenient spot in central D1. The glass-walled bathroom may feel odd, though everything was neat and clean, with good hygiene and a pleasant smell throughout.

I felt safe and comfortable here, and had a wonderful stay. Staff were accommodating and willing to help. The location is handy, with convenience stores on both sides and a grocery store, restaurants, and cafes nearby. When I got to the room, the window was open and I struggled to close it because I'm short. I also couldn't figure out the AC and TV remotes, so I had to go downstairs for help. It'd be useful to have a phone in the room or their WhatsApp number for getting assistance easily.
