The staff were quick to respond and had good suggestions for things nearby, and the location worked well. The bed was comfortable and very firm, though it smelled heavily of perfume. It looked clean and had no stains. The towels had a mildew smell, like they'd been put away wet. It was quiet most of the time, but there was loud music on the last two nights. We were on the third floor, so I imagine the first floor might be noisy with people coming and going. The projector didn't work, and the bathroom door is glass and see-through. For the price and location, it wasn't a bad place for us, though the photos make it look more luxurious than it is.

Ben Thanh market is about 350 m away, around a 5-minute walk. Nguyễn Huệ and Bui Viện walking street are each about 1 km, roughly 14 minutes, and the water bus is 1.7 km away, or about 24 minutes. Google Maps should have the location updated. I stayed in private room 202 on 16/10/25. The room was clean and spacious, with a window for daylight, dark curtains, a small fridge, a large comfortable bed, and a great mattress, pillows, and warm blanket. The A/C was excellent. There was also a hot tub in the room, a lift, and easy self check-in. The bathroom had the shower and toilet together, with shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and two excellent quality towels. A light above the sink would help, and the rack there is loose from the wall. A curtain for the small upper window by the hot tub would be good too.

The room wasn't cleaned during my four-night, five-day stay, and the floors were dirty. I don't think they mop between guests. They also rent rooms through Airbnb, and some Western guests may walk around in their shoes. The toilet in #302 smelled so bad I washed it with detergent every day. They might want to put an air freshener in there. Without housekeeping, I'm not sure this can be called a hotel. The digital handle on room #302 was a daily problem. It often wouldn't work, leaving me stuck outside for at least 30 minutes, and staff didn't reply for hours. Netflix didn't work either. They apparently don't check the setup before guests arrive, even though there's a sign saying guests will be fined for changing it. Noise made it hard to sleep throughout my four nights. The lift was loud every day. On the first night, someone rang the bell and banged on doors for almost an hour. At 3 a.m. on my last night, other guests were shouting in a language I couldn't identify as Vietnamese or any Asian language I recognize. Too many things need fixing. I wouldn't stay again.

The one thing going for MG Daisy is its location in District 1. The entrance is mixed in with a laundry area, and there's no receptionist outside 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If something goes wrong between room cleanings, which happen only once every three days, you're on your own, even with a water problem. The exhaust fan doesn't work. The bathroom has no lock, and its door doesn't close fully, so you'd better sing if you don't want someone walking in while you're using it. There's also no proper separation between the bathroom and bedroom, so bring deodorant or room freshener unless you want the room to smell like the bathroom. If you've got another option, I'd strongly recommend choosing it.
