Ms. Yang Homestay

We didn't get the top-notch service other reviews described. At check-in we were moved to Ms. Yang Homestay 2, just around the corner, which didn't have much of the family feel we'd expected. The room we originally booked, with a balcony, was overbooked. The owners apologized and put us in another room, agreeing to move us to a balcony room the next day. We overslept past the agreed checkout time, and the owners shouted at us and slammed doors. When we looked at the balcony room, we saw an unclean ashtray, paper covering a broken door window, and worn facilities. We decided to leave to avoid more conflict. The two women kindly offered a refund for the nights we hadn't used, though they still emailed to say they were happy my girlfriend and I had moved out. We quickly found a newer guesthouse where the owners didn't shout.

The family running this homestay were really friendly and helpful. They speak good English and go out of their way to look after you. The rooms were clean and a good size, with a lovely balcony over the street. It's centrally located, about a 15-minute walk from HCMC's tourist centre. I had a lovely stay and would come back. Ms. Yang is actually two sisters, and they're lovely to talk to and full of advice. The room was clean, with decent WiFi and a/c. It's in a great location on the boarder of district 3 and . I'd highly recommend it.

I'm Ms.Yang, the onwer of Ms. Yang homestay. I'm writing this to reply to the 1* review from " Linas Valiukas". I hope future guests read this and know more about us before deciding. Dear Linas, we can't please everyone, because some people are not " normal people". As I already said in an email, we were happy when you told us you'd moved out. I think you remember me thanking you many times and giving you free water when you left, right? Why was I happy you checked out before your booking ended? Honestly, from the first second I saw you with your Asian girlfriend, I didn't want to host you. I wish future guests could see you in person so they'd understand more deeply what I mean. From a business point of view, everyone wants customers, but why did I refuse to host you? You and your Asian girlfriend came home after midnight and talked too loudly while the other guests were asleep. I asked you to keep quite, but it seemed you and her didn't care. Sorry guys, if I had a choice, I'd choose 10 other guests over YOU. As you said, "Unclean astray, worn off facilities, bronken window" (but not in your room). I did all this because my purpose was not to host you. If I kept things as you said, I would never have had a 9,2 point for cleaness. You didn't feel at home in my house. Of course not, because you're the kind of person who can't feel anything called " family feeling". To you, I'd say it'd be better to stay in a guesthouse, not a homestay, because you're the kind of person who can't connect with people around you. ONLY .... of you girlfriend. Thank you to everyone who read this post. Please consider the situation and make your own decision. We'd love to welcome all of you, BUT not you Linas.
