Nest Hotel

For tourists looking for comfort without spending much, Pham Ngu Lao is a great area. The hotels are clean and affordable. Dan’s Wash & Stay at 185/10 Pham Ngu Lao is handy for laundry, with self-service, 24/7 access, and a price of just 30K per load.

The room had a comfortable bed, working AC, a table and chairs, and a flat-screen TV with HDMI so I could hook up my own device. The furniture and room design were nice, and the fridge was tucked neatly into a little closet. There are also several friendly cats hanging around the lobby, and the staff were kind and helpful. The weak points were the Wi-Fi, which was unreliable, and the shower. The water was usually cold, lukewarm at best. Noise was an issue on some nights too, even though our room faced an alley rather than a busy street. Neighbours shouted, dogs barked, and music from Bui Vien could get very loud.

The location was amazing, and the staff were friendly. Our small rooms felt cramped and had no proper windows, and there was some mold. On the plus side, there were no insects and no noise.

The owners were courteous and professional, and I’d happily stay here again on a trip to HCM City. It’s a small, family-run hotel at a reasonable price, within walking distance of many Ho Chi Minh City attractions. My room was pleasant, with effective air conditioning, a mini fridge, and a comfortable bed. The shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure.
