Oyo 273 Ngoc Anh Hotel

It’s cheap and clean, and the air conditioning is good. It’s not exactly a four star hotel, but what more do you need? I’d happily stay again when I’m in siagon.

I’d booked and paid ahead for five nights, but after a long, tiring trip I arrived to be told bluntly that the hotel no longer honored reservations made through booking sites. They sent me away without helping me find a similar room. Another man arrived ten minutes later and got the same rude treatment. They could have contacted me through the booking site, but didn’t. They really don’t care about guests. Book somewhere else and stay away!

This was my third stay, and it’ll be my last. I asked for a non-smoking room, but smoke from other rooms was awful all night and still bad at 7:00 am. We had bad headaches, and even my sheets smelled of smoke. It was noisy too. The guest above me stomped all night, and the desk clerk said it was the maid cleaning, which I didn’t believe. Five guests in the room next door talked in the hallway all night and kept slamming the doors. Where was the guard? I bought microwave food at Mini-Stop, then found out there wasn’t a microwave in my room or anywhere in the building.

The location is good, but that’s the only positive I can mention. The room was dirty and the facilities were poor. I stayed one night while passing through Hochiminh. The service was the worst part. I checked out the next morning and asked for a tax invoice. They couldn’t give me one, so they took my address and said they’d mail it later. They charged an extra 10% for VAT. Two weeks later I tried calling, but nobody picked up despite many calls over three days. Then I was told they had no record of my request and asked to give my details again. A week later, nothing had arrived. When I called, the staff member said he’d check again. After all those calls, I still got no useful answer. Be careful with this hotel!
