Lam Hotel

I liked the peaceful, friendly local feel here, with plenty of street vendors around. If you want to experience everyday local life in district 3, I’d recommend staying a couple of nights.

We felt safe here while getting a taste of Vietnamese culture. We took the kids to explore the market and buy food in the alleys, then ate and waited for rides in the lobby. People were nice, there were lots of food choices, and prices were decent without needing to haggle. The receptionist had great recommendations. A pharmacist just a few steps away gave us effective medicine for the kids’ cold and fever. We could see poor, run-down houses outside the window, like many Vietnamese houses. Our two queen beds had wheels, so we pushed them together for the kids. For foreign kids with sensitive stomachs, we found Aquafina bottle water or coconuts opened in front of you and drunk within an hour to be safe options. Cold coconut gave us digestive issues. We left a water bottle in the fridge to make our own clean ice. You can look at Google earth to see the neighborhood.

The bed, pillows, and blankets were so comfortable, and the mattress and pillows were firm enough. We’ve stayed at several hotels, including 5 star places, but slept really well here. LAM hotel is right in the center of BAN CO MARKET, with all kinds of restaurants and street food right outside. Even so, it’s quiet at night and feels safe to walk around. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially HUU and VIET. There’s an elevator, and the hotel can store your luggage. My only downside was that there’s no in-room safe. I’d give the hotel 4 stars overall and would definitely come back.

The service deserves 5 stars, and the location is really handy for Ban Co’ s market. I’ll stay here again.
