The room was cheap, but small and dirty, with broken furniture. I could put up with that for the price. The reason for the one star was the afternoon receptionist. The morning guy who checked us in was fine, but later the other man was very rude. Several times he stopped me to ask whether I was really staying there, what room I had, whether I’d booked in advance, and whether I’d paid. I’d already checked in and showed him my room key, but that didn’t seem to satisfy him. He also asked how soon I could leave and how soon I could leave Vietnam and return to my country the next day. I understand precautions during the pandemic, but he asked in an aggressive, very rude way. I suspect there was some xenophobia behind it. I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone, local or foreign.

The staff were very friendly, though the single and double rooms felt dated and weren’t very comfortable. They have hot showers in the bathrooms, and a king-sized bed costs 14 dollars a night. The dorm was full. It was very noisy, and breakfast is no longer included.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but the manager has been really helpful with general information and arranging tours. I went on a three-day Mekong Delta tour and a trip to the Cu Chi tunnels.

The rooms are large and suit the needs of backpackers and simple travelers. The receptionist was very nice and had an excellent service attitude, which made the hotel stay much better.
