The manager speaks English and let me stay beyond checkout for a modest fee. The hotel is nicely located near a park, places to eat, and coffee shops. It even has a nice elevator!

A handy, inexpensive place for an airport layover. It was quiet and very clean, and the staff were really friendly. There are heaps of places to eat nearby, plus a famous local Buddhist Temple on the same street.

We had a lovely stay at i-La hotel in Makati, Manila, but this hotel kicked us out yesterday, March 11, because I’m a foreigner and had been in the Philippines on business for a day. The worst part was that they wouldn’t refund our money. Be very careful here. I can’t tell whether they’re trying to benefit from the Contra virus outbreak or simply don’t understand how to run a hotel, but either way, foreigners should be aware. I’d rather pay more and know I’ll be treated fairly than be left without somewhere to stay. ☹️☹️☹️
