RedDoorz Phuong Nam Hotel near Nga Tu Binh Thai

We left after two nights, though I had booked four for my family and our two children. The ground-floor room beside the parking lot felt far too cramped for four people, with a very low ceiling. One of the kids was so unsettled they cried through the night. The bathroom was much smaller than the booking photos suggested, with the shower right beside the toilet, so the whole area got wet after every shower. There was no hand soap, and I had to ask for complimentary water each day. The phone in the room didn’t work, either. We also felt unsafe with the manual key lock. The lock actually fell off, and all the ground-floor doors use manual keys while rooms upstairs have electronic locks. If electronic access can’t be provided, I don’t think those rooms should be rented out. The water even stopped while I was showering once, leaving me waiting around 30 minutes for it to come back. I asked for a refund for the two unused nights, but the hotel refused and sent me to Agoda since I had booked there. The room didn’t match what the listing led us to expect. I booked under a non-refundable policy, and would have accepted that if the advertisement had been accurate. I’ve attached photos comparing the washroom shown on Agoda with the one we got. The advertised one looks larger and in much better condition. It’s also not true that family rooms are only on the ground floor, since there’s at least one upstairs. If they really were all downstairs, that should have been clearly stated in the listing. For a hotel that calls itself 3-star, not providing hand soap is surprising. You can even get hand soap in a metro station washroom. We were traveling with two young children, aged 2 and 8, who both need care. Splitting us between two rooms wasn’t practical. Please try to see it from our side. The alternatives offered didn’t make sense for our situation. I’d urge management to fix the safety and maintenance problems and make sure the room photos are accurate. I wouldn’t recommend this place to families.
