Finding another place at the last minute cost me much more, after the host told me just three days before we were due to arrive that our unit wasn't available because of a “fire safety inspection.” I had booked the 3-bedroom, 2-bath unit at The Fifth Home Thao Dien 45 days ahead for 24 days with my family of 3, and had the booking confirmed twice. The host offered either a downgrade or $50 compensation. Things can come up, but the way they're dealt with says a lot about the host and business. Future guests may want to bear that in mind.

They first said we were the ones who cancelled, then told us they had to cancel the day before our booking. Communication was miserable and there was no transparency. Don't book here!

Their calendar mix-up led them to cancel our booking and change the dates the day before we arrived. We were left without a hotel room. Totally unacceptable.

The apartment is roomy, with 3 bedrooms, and it's kept really clean and in good shape. The furniture is a little dated. It's a quiet, convenient spot in the Thao Dien area, with parking in front of the building. The price was reasonable, and I was satisfied.

Right in the center of Thao Dien, and clean.
