Long, our host, was efficient, and the room was clean with a very large, comfortable bed. That was about where the positives ended. The whole complex looked tired and run down, and we were disappointed after seeing the good reviews. We even wondered if we’d arrived at the wrong place, since the Homestay seemed to have declined so much compared with what earlier reviews described. They couldn’t find our room keys because, apparently, the previous guest hadn’t returned them. That wasn’t Long’s fault. The sink pipes were broken and water spread across the floor whenever we used the taps. The shower was cold, with no instructions for getting hot water, and the air conditioning didn’t work. The pool looked so dirty that nobody swam, and I think the restaurant was closed too. The loudspeakers on the main road were very noisy and started early in the morning. Breakfast was an instant packet mixed with warm water and topped with an egg. We left early.

The room was clean and furnished, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. A young local welcomed us and tried his best, but he couldn’t speak any English, which made communication very difficult. The restaurant was closed, so we couldn’t get dinner or breakfast. At 5 AM, a loudspeaker on the main road woke us up and went on for about an hour. There were no bikes or motorbikes to rent, making it hard to get around. Nearby restaurants were few and poor. I’m sorry, because the place could have real potential, but I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy homestay. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the garden was beautiful. The meals and BBQ were tasty, too. You can sit by the river, watch the stunning sunset, and have a cold beer. Highly recommend! 👍

We booked a day ahead on agoda, and the website confirmed it. But when we arrived, they said they had no record of our booking, even though I had the booking confirmation. It turned out they’d given our room to a large tour group and lied about it. They refused my refund request and told me agoda would send the money back to my bank account within 24 hours. It’s been more than 72 hours and nothing has happened. The amount isn’t big, but I hope they learn to treat customers better and think beyond giving a room to whoever has a little more money. Be careful with this place.

The family made us feel welcome at this beautiful homestay, which is close to some incredible attractions. The rooms are lovely and clean, with different options for different budgets. There’s good food and a hot shower, too. You can hire a scooter, or use the free bikes to get around.
