Thien Thanh Green View Boutique Hotel

We planned to stay two nights, but left after the first. The bathroom and curtains had mold, the sheets were stained, and the mattress sagged like a hammock. Breakfast was just as bad: my soup had a dead fly and old meat in it. The first impression was nice and the staff were friendly, but the place was filthy. They did refund both nights, though they acted surprised by the problems. Other reviews suggest they’d been going on for months. I also suspect the ten-star reviews are bought to protect the ranking. Don’t trust the booking.com photos.

The location is great, but the noise was awful. Rooms facing the “garden” hear the paddle center next door, with people playing from as early as 5 am, plus loud music from nearby places until midnight. The staff were nice, though I suspect the place changed its name because of bad reviews. It’s old, not very clean, and doesn’t look like the photos. For me, it felt like a one- or two-star hostel in Europe, definitely not a four-star hotel. I’d strongly recommend avoiding it.

We ended up booking somewhere else for the rest of our time in Hoi An and were much happier there. It cost half as much, with an incredible room and awesome staff. We’d expected more from this boutique hotel, especially given the booking.com reviews, but it was disappointing for the price. There was mold beside the bathtub, a dirty bathroom, dust on the floor, poor water pressure, and the shower sometimes had no hot water. We messaged the manager on WhatsApp about our concerns, and although we passed reception several times, nobody approached us. The customer service was disappointing. Better options are available for less.

The pool and location were great, and cece at the front desk was genuinely helpful and accommodating. The rest of the experience was upsetting. Our room was filthy, with hairballs and sand on the floor, crumbs and rubbish swept under the bed, and hair in the bath and basin. The TV didn’t work either. Mold on the ceiling made the bathroom and shower smell, and the showers were ice cold or wouldn’t turn on at all at times. When we asked the cleaning lady for toilet paper because there wasn’t any in the room, she said she’d already given us some, rolled her eyes, then handed us a roll. One morning construction directly above us woke us up, with no warning beforehand. The cleaning and service were astonishingly poor. I’d look elsewhere at the same price.
