Asia Hotel Hue

The breakfast buffet has a lot to choose from, with Western and Vietnamese food, freshly made bun bo hue, omelettes, eggs, fruit, and plenty of freshly cooked fish and meat. The hotel sits just off the main street, with restaurants and nightlife nearby. A five-minute walk takes you to where locals eat, and it's a handy base for trying local food. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the beds are comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The hotel is very clean overall, though some fixtures and walls show their age.

The bed was comfortable, and both breakfast and the location were great. We had to move rooms because the bed in the first one was broken. The decor feels dated, one of the men's lobby toilets wouldn't lock, and the shower head was only at my shoulder height. Water also pooled in the bath and ran onto the floor. The kettle couldn't be plugged in because of where the switches were. A few small fixes would make a big difference.

We got caught in a huge flood, and the concierge arranged a canoe to take our luggage to the bus. As we left, the staff hugged us and wished us luck. That was service above and beyond. Thank you, Asia Hotel. We hope you're safe and well!

Breakfast had lots of options and was great, and the staff were friendly. The bathroom needed a lot of repairs, though, and the shower head was only about two feet up, with no higher fitting. Staff were a bit pushy about selling tours. After a long journey, I didn't want a sales pitch at check-in, or on the other days either. Maybe a leaflet would work better. The location is very central to the western foreigner area, but it can be noisy until about 11 pm, when the clubs and street parties quiet down.
