We arrived at 11 PM, 35 minutes later than the time we’d originally given, and found our booking had been canceled without warning. Since it was a Vietnamese national holiday, almost everywhere in Hue was full. We had to take a taxi all the way to Da Nang to find somewhere to sleep. It was the worst experience we’ve had traveling. The host was very unfriendly and didn’t speak any English, so we had to rely on Google Translate during an already stressful night. We won’t return, and would strongly advise others to avoid this hostel.

I was very disappointed. We arrived early in the morning and were told to come back at midday. When we returned, we still couldn’t get the room we’d booked. I don’t know if they were overbooked or if it wasn’t ready. They put us in what barely seemed like a hotel room, with just a lock instead of a proper door. The bathroom and toilet were down the corridor. Then we found out there was no hot water. We got a discount, but I wouldn’t have stayed if we’d booked for more than a night.

This hotel and hostel is about 3 km from the train station. Cafes, restaurants and a theater are within a five-minute walk, while the walking street and night market take around half an hour on foot. It mostly has local travelers and is average for its price range. The room and washroom were okay, and the staff were friendly and could help arrange a bike, though the bike quality wasn’t great. There’s a small kitchen and washing area, but bring your own supplies. The room has no soundproofing, and there was a damp, watery smell all the time. Fine for a one-day stay.

This was a run-down, motel-style Airbnb wannabe with a cigarette smell and poor air circulation. The woman tried to charge me more than the agreed price. Cheap or not, I wouldn’t stay here unless you want to breathe cigarette smoke all night.
