Century Riverside Hotel Hue

The breakfast buffet was the highlight, with lots of tropical fruit. There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel, and the Sapa Open Tour sleeper bus station for Hanoi is only a few meters away. It’s a good hotel with large, clean rooms, though they’re a bit outdated. My room also had a balcony with a nice river view.

The hotel couldn’t be more central, and the river view from the balcony was outstanding. The bed was really comfortable, the pool superb, and the staff and service excellent. Breakfast was so good, with loads of choice. Highly recommend.

The hotel feels a little old and tired, and could use a makeover. Its gym was disappointing, with old equipment that was broken or not fit for use. If you like me want to use the gym a few times during your stay, that’s a letdown. The hotel is in a great central spot, and the staff are really friendly and attentive, always willing to help. The quality for the price feels good and fair.

The staff were amazing and went well beyond what they needed to do. When we found a cockroach in the bathroom on arrival, the handyman dealt with it, but there was another one the next morning, so they offered to move us. They apologized a lot and gave us complimentary fruit. Cockroaches aren’t ideal, of course. Breakfast had a good selection, and there were lots of staff ready to help. The pool was clean and nice, while the gym could use new equipment. The building is grand, but run down. The bathrooms need updating and some furniture needs replacing. It’s near lots of shops and bars, but compared with the much cheaper places we’d stayed in elsewhere in Vietnam, the room quality made it feel overpriced.
