Hue Ancient Town Hotel is close to the shops, cafes and restaurants around Walking Street, with easy access to the expanded river walk pathway. Dong Ba Market and the Imperial City are a short scooter ride away. The rooms are simple, clean and well kept. Some have the typical Vietnam bathroom setup, where the shower shares space with the toilet, but shoes are provided for walking on the wet floor. I’ve stayed here twice now, after trying other places that called themselves home stays but didn’t feel like one. The management and staff welcomed me back with hugs, and we shared photos of our children and celebrated each other’s accomplishments. It feels like I’ve gained a new family, and I’ll stay here again on future visits to Hue.

I had a small room, but the covered marble balcony was huge and a great place to sit and watch the street. Kim and Quan at the desk were so friendly. They suggested places to eat, arranged an inexpensive and pleasant bus trip to Hoi An, handled the laundry, and made sure we were comfortable. They’re lovely people and always greeted us with a smile. Kim, congratulations on your new baby, and thanks for everything. I really enjoyed my stay at Ancient City Homestay in Hue. When I’m back, I’ll stay there again, or maybe try their nearby new location, Imperial Hostel.

The owner and staff were really friendly, and the rooms were super clean. There was hot water and the bathroom was clean, too. For the service and quality, it’s extremely cheap. I’d highly recommend it to budget backpackers.

We really recommend staying here. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to help whenever we needed directions or anything else. They also sent us food recommendations, and every place we tried was delicious. The location’s handy for lots of things, with plenty of good food within walking distance. Our dorm was exceptionally well priced. It was clean and spacious, everything worked well, and the shower was great. The beds were comfy, and the air conditioner and fan kept the room cool. Breakfast was included, with lots of options, and it was amazing. This has been one of the best places we’ve stayed in Vietnam.
