Melia Vinpearl Hue

The price was extremely cheap for the location and service, and our room was very well soundproofed. That's why I'm still giving it five stars, even though a few things affected my mood. The staff were generally nice and helpful, breakfast had a lovely mix of Vietnamese and international options, and the spa services were outstanding. It was crowded, though, so book ahead. Alma restaurant has an incredible city view. The food was okay, not bad, but not amazing, while in-room dining was quick and efficient. There are lots of cute cafes and restaurants within walking distance. I was annoyed on the first day when a staff member said our room had river and city views, but it turned out to be city view only. They later explained there'd been a mistake and said a river-view room would be available the next day, so I could move then. The view was the main reason I'd booked, and I was working during the stay and spending a lot of time in the room, so I had really hoped to enjoy the scenery more. There was a wedding one day, and the photo taking got chaotic. People blocked the elevator entrance, which was unpleasant, and one cameraman bumped into me. I don't mind people taking pictures, but it gets annoying when hotel guests can't get through. No staff were there to manage things and keep the entrance clear. There was no welcome drink either, which confused me, since the other five-star hotels I've stayed at usually had one. I notice small details, and these things affected my experience.

The welcome-back gift was a lovely surprise, especially since the booking was under a different name. That kind of personal attention really stood out. Special thanks to Ms.Kim Mee. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive throughout, making us feel valued from start to finish. The rooms were elegant, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with stunning city and river views. Breakfast was another highlight, with a generous, high-quality range of Vietnamese local dishes and international choices. Meliá Huế gave us a memorable stay with refined comfort and outstanding service. Highly recommended.

We had a really good stay as a family of five at Melia Vinpearl Hue. The central location made it easy to get around Hue, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. Our two connecting rooms were very handy, and the views over the city were fantastic. Breakfast had lots of choice, but vegetarian and vegan options were limited. The “vegetarian” station only had a few things, so most mornings I rotated those with fruit and bread. I appreciated that staff would make vegan phở if asked. My teen also felt the spa shampoo service was more like having her scalp scratched than getting a relaxing head massage. There weren't enough power points in the room either, so charging everyone's devices took some juggling. Still a comfortable, well located hotel with great staff. I'd stay again, especially if they improve the vegan breakfast options and add more power points.

The premium rooms had great views, and breakfast was great too. Staff were friendly, check-in was easy, and we appreciated having both rooms arranged on the same floor. They were flexible about a late checkout. Outside noise stayed out well, but we could hear the upstairs guests' TV quite loudly through the internal walls at night. It didn't go on too late, luckily, though that depends on who else is staying. I also think sauna access should be included, as it is at many similar hotels.
