Nano Eco-Hostel

It’s a lovely place in nature with a really relaxed feel, about a 20min Grab ride from Hue center. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking to unwind.

I stayed in one of the 4-bed hostel dorms in 2024. It was very clean, and the owners were friendly and accommodating. When I ran into motorcycle trouble, they helped get it fixed quickly. I hope the current (2025) floods didn’t affect them too badly.

The food was delicious, the pool was beautiful, and the room’s AC worked well. I also liked the peaceful, nature filled setting away from town. But it’s a long way from everything. I waited over 40 mins to get the owners’ attention so I could order food. Nobody was at reception in the evening, and the owner didn’t tell me I needed to ring a bell until my second day. The front desk woman didn’t seem friendly, and there are no female only dorms, which felt a bit sketchy as a woman traveling solo. There was a flying roach in my room, and I had to kill it with my shoe. The owner should check rooms every day for bugs, show guests around and point out both their room and the shared hostel bathroom. It would also help to have someone at reception 24/7 and make guests feel more welcome. The most annoying part was the bus to Phong Nah. I asked the front desk woman to book the best bus with more space. She said there were only two buses and the last left at 5 pm. She said she’d booked the “best” one, and I paid her. But the address she gave me was the wrong bus station. A man on a motorcycle showed up and told me to get on. It turned out the bus she’d booked had three rows and no room for a 4 hour ride to Phong Nha. The driver said I had to wait two hours for the lying down bus at 7pm. Guests booking a bus need the right information so they don’t waste time sitting at the station.

The peaceful atmosphere was exactly what my friend and I wanted after long flights. We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was yummy, the laundry service was great, and we met some lovely solo travelers. It’s close to the water park and around 2km from popular spots. We could also leave our bags for free in the common area after checkout because our flight was later. Really good vibes, and we were happy with our stay 😎
