Silk Path Grand Hue Hotel

Our double room was huge, with a very comfortable bed and lots of room to spread out. Breakfast was a real highlight, with fresh local and Western choices, including Bun Bo Hue at the noodle station. If you book ahead as a hotel guest, it comes with a 50% discount. There’s plenty to do on site too: a gym, a lovely pool, and a spa and sauna. After a day out, the cool lounge spaces were a good place to unwind. The hotel felt spotless and almost new, and the staff were so friendly they even gave us complimentary mochi. Silk Path Grand Hue Hotel mixes Vietnamese and French touches, with chandeliers, lantern lamps, ceramics, and cultural decor throughout. It’s on a graceful street that’s nice to walk along, just steps from the train station and a pleasant walk beside the Perfume river to the Imperial City. A great setting for exploring Hue.

We only stayed one night, and the hotel was good value, with elegant design and a convenient location. It’s an easy walk to the Imperial City, while other attractions are roughly 20 minutes away by taxi app. The staff were really friendly and arranged both an early check-in and a late check-out, which we appreciated. The building is beautifully designed. Breakfast had lots of variety, though the quality felt average next to breakfasts at other hotels we visited in Vietnam, which were often more impressive. We had a pleasant stay.

Breakfast was generous, with both local and European choices. We also tried the restaurant one evening, but its Vietnamese food disappointed us. There are better places a short walk or Grab ride away. Tour groups who prefer burgers and chips should be happy with it, though. The suite we booked at the front had an unusual layout, and we could hear traffic from the road. In the end it didn’t really bother us. The public rooms are grand and comfortable, and the hotel itself feels smart. In Vietnam, quite a few five-star hotels don’t meet European standards, but this one certainly does, with service that was exemplary and top-notch. We didn’t use the attractive pool because of the weather. The spa, gym, and massages were all excellent. It’s about a two-minute walk from the train station, and the river route to the Citadel makes for a pleasant 30-minute walk. We’d happily stay here again, which is the best test of all.

The room was thoughtfully prepared, and the hotel paid close attention to the details during our stay. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world, but Silk Path is one I won’t forget. My daughter and I were so happy here and enjoyed every moment. I’ll certainly come back very soon. The Front Office team was outstanding. I also want to thank the doormen, who were consistently excellent in their professional appearance and attitude. They greeted us with warm smiles and were always ready to help, so we felt truly cared for. Thank you again, and wishing the whole Silk Path team a peaceful, warm, joyful Christmas.
