The Nam Du Hill

If you want a quiet island week away from the city and off the grid, this was a delightful place to stay. The hospitality, warm atmosphere, food and drinks were all wonderful from our perspective. Getting there was easy. They picked us up at the port for a very short drive, though the road is quite steep because the hotel is at the top of the island. While we waited for our room, they offered refreshing drinks and snacks, a thoughtful welcome. Yen, the owner, brought a lot of warmth to the stay. She keeps everything organized and running smoothly, and still gets involved in the kitchen to cook for guests herself. You can feel how much care she puts into the business. We rented a motorbike through the hotel. They checked that it was in perfect condition every day, which showed how attentive they are to guests. I agree with Helena in her previous review about not being put off by the negative reviews. For a peaceful island getaway with great service and really good food and drinks, this is a great choice.

It seems some other business owners or jealous people may be trying to pull down the score of this wonderful place.

The rooms were clean and well cared for, and the staff were friendly. The owner was nice, helpful, and considerate. The harbor and market are within walking distance, and the room and location are good value for money. One thing they could consider is lowering drink prices, since they may be unaffordable for many Vietnamese visitors.

The restaurant is in a beautiful setting, and the food was amazing. You can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with plenty of vegetarian choices if that’s what you like. My favorite was the pork, and the coffee was great too. The rooms were lovely and clean, with beautiful views, spare robes, good showers, and air-conditioning. There were thoughtful little touches around the hotel, including an oil burner and snacks and drinks when we arrived. The owner arranged a local fishing and snorkeling trip for us, with cold beers and a BBQ lunch made from the fish we caught. She was very accommodating and thought of lots of small details that made the experience extra lovely.
