Hoang An Hotel

The problem that really soured my stay happened after the bathroom drain clogged on day two and flooded our room. The floor was entirely wet, so I used the two towels provided to push water into a corner and make a spot to get dressed. We put our luggage on the chairs and table, left, and told the front desk about the blockage. When we returned, the room was mostly dry but the drain was still clogged, so we took quick showers until checkout. At checkout, the owner charged an extra 200k, saying the towels had created extra laundry. There was a major language barrier, and my Vietnamese girlfriend was out running errands. I didn't want to argue, so I paid, but the charge and the way it was handled left me feeling that the service was awful. I wouldn't recommend this hotel when there are lots of other places in Lagi. We stayed three nights. They couldn't find my reservation at first, though rooms were available, so my girlfriend and I checked in anyway. The toilet had been turned off because the bidet was leaking. Staff fixed that quickly, but I wondered why it hadn't been repaired before we arrived. We chose the hotel because the exterior and garden looked nice in the pictures, but in person the garden was pretty much nonexistent. Those first issues alone wouldn't have earned one star, but the flooding and checkout charge did.
