Sen Trang Hotel

The room was old and dirty, and there was long hair on the sheet. It looked as if the sheet had never been changed. The bathroom was dirty too. In this busy tourist area, I just don't understand why the price is so high. I think only 3usd a night would be acceptable.

The staff member I met was accommodating, and the view from the 7th floor was nice. I imagine the room there would smell good. But the person who took over when I left seemed annoyed when I asked several questions. I booked two nights in a dorm, and I couldn't sleep because it smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke. It clung to the old wallpaper and wouldn't go away. I have poor lung health and am particularly sensitive to it. In older motels, smoke can get so ingrained in wallpaper that it has to be replaced. The facilities weren't particularly uncomfortable, but I sincerely hope they'll take better care of the dormitory.

@ Raphael the poster below, I'm curious how the hotel saved your life! I think it used to be called Binh Minh, though for whatever reason it's now Sen Trang. It's a 10 minute taxi ride to the train station.

The staff are wonderful, and the restaurant is excellent. The dorm was comfortable, clean and quiet. They may not know it, but this hotel saved my life.
