Vesna Hotel Nha Trang

We stayed as a family because we wanted to be across from the beach. The location suited us well: the beach, shops, and restaurants are easy to reach on foot, and a short Grab ride gets you to many top attractions. The hotel met our expectations for cleanliness, service, and amenities. Staff were helpful and communicative, and breakfast had a good range each day that worked for both adults and kids. Our rooms had only a limited beach view, but we didn't care too much about that. I'd recommend it.

The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious, the air conditioning worked well, and breakfast was good, with decent variety and quality. Still, the service and facilities fell short of what I expect from a five-star hotel. On arrival, the security guard saw us drive in but kept chatting and made us wait without greeting us. He handed over a QR code telling us to go around back for parking. The welcome was so poor we nearly left to book somewhere else. The parking is uncovered, leaving cars in direct sun all day, and the gate is locked, which makes coming and going a hassle. On the second night I parked at Vincom and walked 700 metres to avoid it. If you're driving, I'd think carefully before booking here. The bathroom drain was poor, the toilet was clogged, and the room had very weak soundproofing. A strong bad smell from the hallway carpet drifted inside. Housekeeping staff also walked past guests without saying hello.

This was my second stay. It looks good when you arrive, and the rooms are okay. Breakfast is Vietnamese, so only okay for Westerners. The brewed coffee was awful; the machine coffee was okay, but somehow very sweet. Despite the clean-room light being on, my room went 36 hours without cleaning. I asked for a clean and was promised one, but it never happened. Then I asked for soap and towels, which were supposedly coming in five minutes. They never showed up either. There was loud banging all day. I asked security to look into it, and they fixed it within 15 minutes. It seems a window had been left open. When I was leaving, I asked security to open my safe, but he didn't come. Luckily, an engineer happened to be on my floor and helped straight away!! 😊

One staff member, Oanh, was notably helpful and professional. She is the only reason I added a star. The hotel doesn't live up to its five-star rating; in practice, it felt like three stars at best. Our room was small, not cleaned well, and poorly soundproofed, so noise from nearby rooms came through clearly. We were next to the staff service elevator, which disturbed us throughout the stay. Check-in and check-out were both far too slow and inefficient for a luxury hotel. Breakfast was reasonably good, with changing options, and staff were generally polite. Beyond that, I found no facilities or services that justified the rating. I won't return or recommend it. Guests should be cautious about relying on the five-star label, since it didn't reflect our experience.
