Hotel Thu Thao

The good parts were a calm, relaxing stay, a working fridge, and an extension cord that made it easy to plug in my laptop while sitting in the comfy chairs. I had several problems, though. When I arrived without a booking, the receptionist quoted 230k. I said Booking.com showed 215k for Genius members and that I would rather book there. Before I could sit down and open the app, he made the rooms unavailable on Booking.com, and the best price then shown was 300k. I'd checked the hotel each day for the week before arriving, and there had always been a room at 215k, including an hour before I got there. That evening, after I checked in, the 215k offer appeared again for that same night and the following days. It seemed to me he had done this to get an extra 15k from me for each night. That felt dishonest. The bathroom drain hadn't been cleaned before I checked in, and water stayed pooled after every shower, taking a while to go down. The AC was old and noisy, and it blew straight at me in bed. I had to turn it off to sleep, then woke once or twice a night to switch it on again when the room got stuffy. There was also dirt behind the fridge because they don't seem to move the table to clean back there. After dark, stray dogs roam around the hotel.
