I’d book here again when I return. The food is good and well priced, the staff are friendly, and there’s a receptionist who speaks English. It’s about a 15-minute drive from The Duck Stop, which is a must see. The river view is stunning, and the place was kept clean. It’s a little farther down than central back packers phong nha, but still in a perfect location, especially if you like walking. I had the 10-bed dorm to myself, so I can’t say what it’s like when full. It was spacious, with a decent bathroom. The shower was very cold, though. If it was warm, the room would easily get five stars.

I’ve stayed in a few places in Phong Nha, and a lot of them seemed dirty or neglected. Commander Lodge was a pleasant surprise, absolutely spotless, with beautiful rooms and bathrooms. The pool and dining area were fantastic too. The staff were wonderful and helpful, especially Thuy, who was absolutely lovely.

The dorm was clean and spacious, and there were just three of us, so it was a calm stay. The staff were lovely, especially Thûy. She sat with me and helped choose and book a tour, and was kind the whole time. That really made my stay. Breakfast was good too.

After a day riding from Da Nang, I was looking for somewhere to stay, and Quynh was the best hostess, really helpful. The rooms were nice and breakfast was great. They don’t charge extra for chilled beer, either. There’s motorcycle parking and a very inviting pool where you can swim laps. A good place to stay whether you ride in or not.

The people working here are really nice and helpful. The pool is longer than the ones at the other hotels, so you can get some proper exercise, and it’s open 24/7.
