Calidum Phu Quoc Hotel

I only stayed one night, and I didn't expect much for the price. Still, keep these things in mind. Staff are hardly ever at the front desk, as other reviews have said. Be careful with the water. The pressure is extremely strong, especially from the bidet spray, and it can get boiling hot in seconds. I burned my hand at the sink, thankfully not in the shower. The area is very quiet, almost like a ghost town, with lots of closed shops and a balcony view of basically nothing. It's fine if you want peace, and you can take a short ride elsewhere. The room has nice decor, but could use a little work. I've stayed in cheaper hotels and hostels that were at least clean. Here there was nowhere to hang clothes and no hangers or slippers. The sink looked like it belonged in a house abandoned for months, the nightlight was broken, and the fridge and AC didn't work well. I know things are tough, and people have probably been making the same complaints for a long time. But these things need attention. I won't return or recommend it for now.

Don't stay here. Nobody seems to work on site. When you arrive, you have to call them, and if you have no phone credit, you may be left waiting alone. They even ask to see your booking when you get there, as if there's no booking system. At 8 a.m. I came out of the room and couldn't get back in with my card. How does this place have a 9/10 on Traveloka? It all seems fake. 🤣

We had to wait outside the hotel gate for over 20 minutes in the middle of the night because there was no receptionist, and other guests had accidentally locked the door. There was nobody at reception when we arrived either. The listed hotel number could only be reached on WhatsApp, and staff didn't respond when I tried to contact them. The room had no balcony or window, so it felt suffocating. The staff were completely unresponsive, and the stay was very disappointing. I hope Agoda takes note and arranges a refund of the room charge.

👎👎👎👎 I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The reception staff were the biggest problem: they were almost never at the desk, and whenever I needed help or had a question, nobody was there and I had to wait a long time. Service was very poor, with little attention to guests. I was really disappointed with my stay.
