Herring Phu Quoc Hotel

After a long time sorting things out with Expedia, I eventually got my refund. I later heard other guests had reported the same issue, but Expedia has ignored it, and travelers are still being confused by it. I had booked “Herring Phuu Quoc Hotel” through a fake website, and there was no booking when I arrived. The staff at Herring Beach Hotel Phu Quoc explained that the site wasn’t affiliated with them. They also kindly helped me find another place to stay while I was struggling to reach Expedia, even though that wasn’t their responsibility. I’m grateful for their honesty, support, and professionalism. The fake website caused this, not the hotel.

We’re flying out and supposed to check in tomorrow, December 28th (!) 2025, right in the New Year rush, and there’s nowhere else available. We’d booked two rooms ahead of time, then got a cancellation saying the hotel was “closed.” We’ve lost a lot of money and our holiday, and we’re absolutely shocked. Yet you can still register for late January, February, and beyond, so the hotel seems to be open. Scammers! Don’t bother. We don’t know what to do now.

I only discovered on arrival that I’d booked through a fake account. The hotel staff took time to explain what had happened and helped me look for somewhere else to stay. I’m very grateful for their kindness.

Expedia says this hotel is permanently closed, and if you book it, you’ll get a cancellation notice within a few days. Be aware! Is this the exact location the hotel name points to? This is what it looks like.
