Pepper Farm Phu Quoc Bungalow

We were greeted with a refreshing drink, and the tour ended with long pepper tea. We liked its unusual flavor enough to buy a jar to take home. During the visit, we also tasted fruit picked fresh from the trees and tried a cinnamon leaf, which really stayed with me. Our guide knew the subject well and kept the hour interesting, walking us through how pepper is grown, its history and cultivation, and what happens after harvest. There are different fruit trees on the farm too. You can buy a ticket that includes a hands-on cooking workshop in the open kitchen, where you make a meal together and eat it afterward. It sounded great, but we didn't have time. This was a memorable way to learn, taste, and get a feel for local culture on Phu Quoc Island. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting.

The pepper tour seems fine to join without booking, but book the cooking class ahead to be safe. The tour includes tastings of different fresh peppers and plants. I had no idea cinnamon leaves tasted sweet! The cafe has drinks and small snacks. Their pepper cake is kind of a banana pancake, without much pepper flavor. Pepper products are sold there too, at pretty affordable prices for gifts to take home. The staff were friendly and the service was great.

The cooking class was brilliant, and we had such a lovely time with our cook Thing. He showed us how to make four dishes and shared lots of useful tips about places to visit nearby. The harvest part introduced us to herbs commonly used in Vietnamese cooking. We chose the package with the farm visit, harvesting, and class. Walking around was fun and interesting because there were so many plants we'd never seen. The guide explained the pepper plants really well, and kept things fun with facts about peppers and other plants. This was the highlight of our Phu Quoc trip. We couldn't recommend it more, a must stop in the area.
